Man this changing weather is going to kill me - earlier this week I was at work in boots, trousers and a thick jumper and now its boiling.
Woke up this morning to a hilarious text message from
flatlanddan who is up in Glasgow for the Collectormania event saying that Gareth David Lloyd had managed to miss his plane and wouldn't be there until 3:00 p.m.
At 3:20 I then got another text message that he still hadn't arrived and had managed to miss two planes and a train. Nice going Gareth! But at least this time he managed to remember to keep his phone switched on.
Apparently he did eventually show up and took Dan and Angie presenting him with an alarm clock with good grace. He's apparently promised to use it faithfully! I'm very pleased for Dan and Angie that he did eventually show up but seriously he is a bit useless bless him. I really can't see any organisers wanting to book him after this. I mean he doesn't have to do conventions or signing appearances - noone will think any less of him for it. Plenty of actors I adore wouldn't go near the con circuit if their livelihoods depended on it. But if by some miracle another organiser does take another chance on him (at a probably vastly reduced rate I would imagine)he really does need to grasp the fundamental concept that showing up and on time is really quite important if you want to maintain your fanbase!
Saw Craig Chalmers in the Joseph tour today - I'll do a full report tomorrow, but he was surprisingly good - I mean a 1000 times better than any of his performances on Any Dream Will Do and Chris Barton was also fantastic - granted as Benjamin he didn't get a lot of solo time but he was in a class of his own compared to the other actors playing the brothers.
