Ten/Jack
Jack returns with the Doctor to Torchwood after a fourteenth month absence and whisks Tosh away on a visit to Mars. The author has the Doctor's voice just right and the Tosh/Jack interaction is every bit as beautiful as it was in Captain Jack Harkness. And I hope that when the series finally airs in a couple of weeks that Martha is even half as fun and sweet as she's depicted in this story.
The Universal Constant by
fajrdrako
Nine/Jack implied Jack/Nine/Rose
A haunting conversation between the Doctor and Jack about the harsh truth of life.

Jack/Ianto
Short, silly, very funny and really rather brilliant this story has a temporal mailbox opening up in the Hub and Ianto corresponding with a certain R Jeeves who is very unhappy with Jack's unwanted advances towards his gentleman Mr Wooster!
I adore the concept of the temporal mailbox - I would kill someone to base a challenge on that - the concept of the Torchwood team corresponding with figures from Jack's life past or present is rather wonderful!

Jack/Ianto
Wonderful story told in the first person from a drunken and completely suicidal Jack's point of view. The Jack/Ianto interactions are gorgeous and realistic - no "grief stricken shags" for them.
The writing is even more impressive as the author hasn't watched a single episode of Torchwood!
Five Conversations About Jack and Ianto by
kennedy_unknown
Following the "five things" format this is a series of entertaining drabbles as the Torchwood team discuss the Jack/Ianto relationship. The Ianto/Tosh and Ianto/Jack sections are particularly strong.
Word of warning - the author's LJ layout is so bright and busy it is incredibly distracting and initially for me made reading the story virtually impossible. Not the best way to encourage people to read your work. If you want to read the story copy and paste it into word - your eyeballs will thank you for it.

Doctor Who/Torchwood Recs
Dec. 31st, 2006 06:46 pmSome Doctor Who/Torchwood recs as Ten/Jack, Jack/Ianto are rapidly becoming my super angsty pairings of choice (although finding decent stories in a new fandom without the benefit of any decent recs, any recognisable authors and only the author's summaries to go on is perilous indeed - some of the stories I clicked on were so bad that I feel my brain needs bleaching just to recover from them):
Doctor Who
Finding Judas by wmr
Jack/Ten Ten/Rose
Novel length supremely angsty bittersweet piece with Jack using the rift to engineer a return visit from the Doctor before both travelling through the void to Rose's new world. Well characterised and the author resolutely refuses to take the easy fluffy way out.
Homecoming and Going Travelling by
elfinessy
Homecoming - Jack/Ten Going Travelling - Jack/Ianto
Slightly fluffy Jack/Ten reunion series. We get a very strange cyberman interlude in Going Travelling which belongs in a different fic altogether but otherwise highly enjoyable fluff.

Ten/Jack
Au in which Jack and Martha are the Doctor's current companions this is an entertaingly smutty fic in which Ten and Jack get in on after a night's drinking. Love the portrayal of Martha.
Torchwood
Don't Have Nightmares by
clarity_lore
Jack/Ianto
Ianto is captured by a race of beings called Nightmares and the Torchwood team must fight to get him back. Written very much like an episode of the show with absolutely pitch perfect characterisation and a fun ending.
Jack Harkness is not Boring in Bed by

Jack/Ianto
Despite the spectacularly awful title (which almost made me not click on it) this is a very funny piece told from Ianto's persepctive as he tries to rationalise his anger over Lisa's death with his emerging feelings for Jack.

Jack/Ianto
Really lovely but sad post Out of Time piece (an episode which I confess bored me to tears) with Ianto caring for a melancholy Jack on Christmas Day.
Off to start reading the Torchwood books that I had to battle my way through Tesco's on New Year's Eve to get cheap!
Happy New Year everyone!

Sam/Dean
Dean unwisely tackles an imp who curses him as a result. Funny and very hot.

Sam/Dean
Insanely hot D/s story - part of the sex pollen series.

Sam/Dean
Dark, bitterly ironic Crossroad Blues AU where Dean made the deal with the demon to bring back his father.Very sad.

Sam/Dean
Really beautiful set of ten drabbles. It's such a short piece but it's really emotionally intense. The image of a lonely Dean on his tenth birthday being comforted by having his brother in his arms kinda broke my heart.
Doctor Who
Reading and even attempting to rec Doctor Who fics would be a hell of a full time job! Every archive is full of 40 years of characters and countless cross overs but I came across this one story and just had to rec it:

Ten/Jack
Sweet, sexy story told almost entirely through dialogue (which is no mean feat). Her Ten voice is absolutely brilliantly - she's captured Ten's rambling dialogue and the cadence of Tennant's voice perfectly.
