But if he's filmed a video does that mean he's releasing a single? To be fair his vocals are lovely but the video is just dripping choice fromage!

Um, does this mean we should be subscribing to places like the royal festival hall and royal albert hall to get their newsletters just in case he's planning a concert..? I really think he will do something in either Dec or Jan.

Well one would hope that if he is to do a concert that George would be the first one to announce it on-list but we'll all seen how on the ball George is!

I'm already on the mailing lists for whatsonstage, showstoppers, ticketmaster and see tickets (the last one is really good as it sometimes lets you book tickets in advance) and I already get post from the Royal Festival Hall as I saw Daniel in Sweeney Todd there but I've joined the Royal Albert Hall list just in case.

I don't think he's going to have much time between finishing Torchwood and starting the panto rehearsals (bearing in mind he's filming The Kids are Alright for a week) but I think January after the panto is very possible.

I'm on the ALbert Hall list anyway. Ignore George he knows nothing - never has. I wondered about whether he could get from the Mria thing to the Barbara Cook thing on the second but decided not and he's not listed although Philip Quast is damnit.

Until "Kids" and "Maria" were announced I thought we might get something in late Nov early Dec but I think no chance now. |My bet would be around the time of the re-release of the CD in Feb.

Its awful awful awful. The crap he is putting out at the moment is starting to break my heart when I think of the fabulous stage stuff he has done :(

Well I really did like what I heard of the vocals but the video is dreadful - real 80's throwback with the cheap projected flames behind him and the Addicted to Love musicians. But then bless him he does tend towards the cheese if given full reign, and well the likes of Celine Dion have managed to build empires out of gorgonzola. I guess he figures this is his market now.

You may be right about February - I saw the Barbara Cook tribute but the tickets were very expensive - think I'll save my Quast fix for La Cage Aux Folles (speaking of which do you have your tickets yet? Nothing has arrived for me yet.)

He's riding a wave, has the opportunity to do whatever he wants and that's what he wants to do. I doubt the video will pull in a load of new fans - or the CD. He may get a few "Oh the popular TV star puts out an album of cheesy songs at Christmas then goes back to acting" sales and make some money but I doubt it will alter his long term fanbase much. At least some of his so-called fans might stop saying stuff like "Oh I didn't know he sings..." which I find really annoying.

No not got tickets for La Cage yet. I had assumed it was another collect on the door on the night job. I'll go check my booking slip later.

I must admit the £75 price tag put me off Barbara Cook.

Oh dear. As you said, great vocals, but the video itself? I think I'll stick to the CDs, music-wise.

Also, is it just my computer, or is the editing and movement really choppy?

Yes the editing is dreadful = all jump cuts and huge pans across screen. It's just really spectacularly awful and does completely distract from the nice vocal.
