Fandom Year in Review

Everyone was collecting their fics into one post so I thought I'd collect all my writings over the past year into one post.

So what did I do this year?

Well I read and recced a lot of fanfiction. In fact I seemed to have recced a small library's worth of fanfiction! I started off the year reccing House fics but then my love for that fandom faded when I realised that my heartful adoration of Hugh Laurie aside I neither liked nor understood House as a character and it was impossible for me to even understood why Wilson would want to be his friend much less willing sleep with him.

So I moved over to the wonders of the Supernatural fandom. And damn do we have some insanely talented authors in the Supernatural fandom - the fanfiction is of a quality that I haven't seen in any other fandom. The stories have been an absolute joy to read.

Over the season 1 hiatus I produced master recs list relating to horror, Sam centric stories, Dean centric stories, gen, pwp, episode based stories and post Devil's Trap stories.

Spurred on by my hatred of the lousy excuse for a writer that Television Without Pity had recapping Supernatural at the time (before they switched to Demian) I wrote a detailed recap of Dead Man's Blood and a sadly to forever remain unfinished recap of Salvation.

Now that season 2 is upon us I've written a number of detailed episode reviews.

I've also recorded the entirety of And Fools Shine On by eighth_horizon for spn_audio_novel and have posted the first three chapters of If Belief Was Enough.

I also recorded an excerpt from the wonderful High Minded by alethialia for the Humour and Hijinks podcast.

Finally I also wrote one solitary fic In the Darkness (gen) which got about 3 comments! Constructive feedback would be much appreciated!

So for the next year I'm intending to balance the recs with more writing of my own and I'm thinking of branching into the world of Heroes fanfiction because damn I love that show! But the Supernatural recs won't be going anywhere.

Oh there are millions of recs on this journal! When I was going back over my journal entries I couldn't believe how many stories I've recced - just check out how much bigger the "recs" tag as than all the others!

Of course its OK that your friended me - I love new friends. Its going to be wonderful getting to meet everyone at Asylum.

I just discovered that your podfic And Fools Shine On was never archived with your later TW podfics.

Since I'm in charge of archiving Supernatural podfics now, I'd like to correct that, including posting a podbook version. I hope to have them up later today. :-)
