The Hub 2 Photos - Friday and Saturday

Back from The Hub 2 and had a fabulous time. All the guests were warm and engaging (well except for Roderic Culver - don't think we'll be seeing him at another event any time soon!) and considering how nervous Burn and Eve are and how they don't really care for doing these sorts of events they were simply phenomenal.

More detailed report to come but quite a few piccies (not brilliant quality due to where I was sitting but the best I could do):

Poker - Casino Night

On the Friday night they got a poker table going and Gareth and Kai joined in (all fake money of course!) - Kai was wiped out pretty quickly but Gareth played for a few hours.

Gareth was rather fond of his straw hat and a bit miffed about people telling they didn't like it!

The other hat was from a fan - not sure if he just wore it for the day or whether it was a gift.

All honesty? Highly likely none of them will be there. They all want to go back but the organiser has already said that he can't have everyone back and from what I could make out there is a bit of a move towards new guests and series 3 cast for the next event.

If anyone comes back it will be Burn as they want him for the full weekend.

Aaagghhh. What do you mean NONE of them?! Figures. This would be my first, and likely only time there, so of course. They'd have to have at least Gareth wouldn't they? Come on! I was really hoping to witness the snoggage first hand. :-)))

Damn! My Willy Wonka-ish, I-got-a-Golden-Ticket feeling is beginning to fade. I was hoping to hold on to it for at least a day. *pouts* :-D

He's had Gareth at two conventions in a row and the organiser isn't especially fond of him or his management. I'd love him to be at the next one but I don't think that's guaranteed at all. Its unusual for an organiser to have the same guest at three events in a row- so I'm not convinced that Gareth and Kai will be at the next one. They've already announced 5 guests -traditionally the events generally have about 8 guests.

I think you'll be looking at John, maybe Burn or maybe James Marsters and apart from the other guests already announced series 3 cast.

What the problem with GDL and his management? (I'm not sure I like his management either, but... interested to hear what a professional thinks.)

Nothing wrong with Lisa but he's managed by Steve Himber who looks after James Marsters and who is disliked by the con organisers in the UK for a variety of reasons.

As for GDL - well he made some unfortunate mistakes early on in his "convention" career (no shows etc) which have left an impression.

Yeah, it's the no-shows that I worry about. Boyfriend's gotta man up. (Though he's been doing much better.)

Lisa in his personal appearances manager. His actual agent is something completely different. Steve Himber is his US rep.
