The gawky looking guy who (very amusingly) played the waiter in I Love You Because is to be the new Nicky/Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q alongside Daniel as Rod/Princeton.

I can't remember being particularly knocked out by his voice but then his role in ILYB didn't exactly tax his singing voice - it was more comedy filler. I hope he's good - I adored Simon Lipkin in the role so I hope he can fill his shoes!

We had a chat with him after ILYB before Daniel came down and escaped from the scary blonde woman hogging him for a few minutes :) jhava was rather *taken* with him He was a nice bloke, but as you say, lets hope he's up to it.

::grins:: I was *quite* taken by him indeed. Between him and Daniel, I suspect I'm definitely stagedooring. And I may just have to see the show more than once.

I met him afterwards too - the kittens ignored everyone else in the play and he had to pass me to get to the bar so I complimented him on his performance. He seemed more than a little world weary at the time (he specifically mentioned something about him having so few lines)as though he wasn't necessarily thrilled at finding himself doing rep theatre in a place which only seats 100 (guess he's over that now!). I said I thought he had done a wonderful job linking everything together and he was very sweet.

But yeah hell of a difficult role (especially Nicky who has to have the most Sesame Street voice) but his role in ILYB wasn't much of a showcase so he could well be brilliant.

I think I'm now planning a potential 3 trips - including a promise that I'll take my 10 year old next year - Hmm. Note to self stop drinking champagne and making rash promises whilst distracted by Capt Tightpants LOL
