That might have helped. He always seems more at-ease when Jared's with him (who usually does all the talking, too). But that awards show where he and Jared presented, with the gigantica auditorium full of people... he had that "deer-in-the-headlights" look but good. And I've seen that TV interview with a panel of newsfolks embarassing him while he sits alone in a chair in a face-off, and that looked equally uncomfortable. It's so clearly being put on the spot.
I realize the temptations for interviewers and fans, too, being faced with such an unusually beautiful person, but... nobody likes to have that thrown up in their face in public or coming from strangers. It's just embarassing. "Do you know how pretty you are?" O_o *subject mentally sinks into chair cushion*
