Just back from watching Hot Fuzz. Sadly it wasn't anywhere near as good as Shaun of the Dead. Its mildly amusing, has some great moments where they ape key scenes from other action movies and is pretty much a love story between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's characters but its nowhere near as hilarious as it should be. Bit of a shame really.

Got a shiny black and white autographed photo of John Barrowman in the post today. It's a lovely photo and he responded in 3 weeks. The only person who hasn't responded yet is Gareth David Lloyd - I may try writing to the Welsh address which I think is the Torchwood production office if I don't get a reply.

I cannot believe that I bought the Daily Mail today though just because it had Barrowman in it. When I was growing up the Mail was banned in our household for being a Tory rag. The photo of him in the magazine is lovely but the right wing tone of the article is painful (Russel T Davies is furthering a gay agenda!) and the reference to his recent wedding quite insulting (it states that he "underwent a civil ceremony with his partner" makes it sound like he had some sort of painful procedure performed!). Plus given my recent rants about the lack of proof reading in the Torchwood fandom I cannot believe that the frakkin inept journalist calls his character "Captain Jack Harness" throughout. Jack Harness doesn't really have the same ring to it now does it? Although it does conjure up entertaining visuals.........

I didn't like Shaun of the Dead, so I have my doubts that I'll go see Hot Fuzz.

I loved Shaun of the Dead - its very much my sense of humour but if you didn't like Shaun you definitely won't like Hot Fuzz as it's just a diluted version of it.
