Is it truly sad in my late twenties to be excited at receiving a personalised autograph from Doctor Who himself David Tennant in the post?

No? Good!

Not sad at all. You got an autograph? How cool. Did you write him or what?

The address of his agent is available on his webpage and if you write (enclosing a stamped addressed enevlope or addressed envelope and international reply coupon if you live overseas) you'll get sent an autographed postcard (which is what David seems to send out instead of 10 x 8's - probably cheaper for him as they're BBC Doctor Who promotional postcards which he probably gets given for free). It took barely 10 days from me writing to get a response which I thought was pretty impressive.

Of course with these things you never really know whether its him or some poor assistant signing - but it isn't a pre printed signature and it is personalised so I think its a pretty good chance that he did sign it. He seems to be very very good at responding to everyone so if you're interested write away!

Nope, not sad at all.

Now if you have it framed that might be a little bit dorky... ;p

Hee that would be funny! But no - I do have a decent autograph collection but none of them are on my walls.

Yeah that is pretty fast.

I haven't really collected autographs since I was a young teen but he does sound awesome so maybe I'll give it a shot.

Are you going to be posting a picture? I would love to see it if you have a camera handy :)

Lets not comment. Instead, let us squee.

It's more fun!

I think I was born way too jaded to ever properly squee!

But it was very cool - when I was a lot younger I wrote to a few US stars and never ever got any response at all so to get an autograph back in ten days was surprising. I know other people have sent birthday cards to David to get signed for their children and apparently he always responds and usually sends something more than they've asked for - clearly a guy who really cares about his fans (and yes I have been sad enough to write to John Barrowman and Gareth David Lloyd too!)

Love the icon btw - I love Jessica she's awesome!

My autograph collection is many and varied. Not worth all that much because most of them are personalised but I have a lot of signed theatre programmes (I wait at a lot of stage doors!) which are worth quite a lot - of which my favourite are probably my signed Denzel Washington and Hugh Jackman Playbills.

I'm not terribly adept at posting piccies on LJ but I'll see if I can sort something out.

That's so cool! And wow, what an amazing response time!

I should totally do that. It'd make my day to get an autograph from him.
