I think Tonight's the Night would benefit hugely from being aired live. But it would put immense stress on John and the "wish performers" as well. The staging would also have to be simplified a great deal - no work place wonders and John and the J8's elaborate dance routines would need to potentially be simplified a tad to avoid mistakes.
The Norton show I think is called "Totally Saturday" - they've certainly filmed one episode for it as it con-incided with one of the TtN tapings but that could have been the pilot.
The live atmosphere isn't really being conveyed all that well on the tv - which is a shame as live the show is electric.
